On September 18, 2026, the Department of War published Release 06 of the Presidential Unsealing and Reporting System for UAP Encounters - 71 records (55 PDFs, 15 videos, 1 audio recording) at war.gov/UFO/, spanning 1952 to 2025. Sixty-seven come from the Department of War and four from a Colorado local law-enforcement agency - the first local police material in the program. The tranche is document-heavy: 37 Defense Intelligence Reference Documents from the DIA's 2008-2012 Advanced Aerospace Weapon System Applications Program (AAWSAP), covering warp drives, wormholes, antigravity, and a study of injuries attributed to anomalous encounters. The video block adds the digitized 1952 Tremonton, Utah film, new CENTCOM infrared tracks from 2022 and 2025, Yellow Sea footage, and two 2023 Colorado police cellphone videos. Sixty-four of the 71 files (90%) carry redactions. The release brings the running PURSUE archive to roughly 450 records.

ALREADY ATTRIBUTED
MUNDANE EXPLANATIONS WITHIN THE RELEASE OR FROM POST-RELEASE ANALYSISThe CIA-sponsored Robertson Panel reviewed the film in January 1953 and suggested the objects were probably birds (seagulls) reflecting sunlight. Blue Book's own file, released here, stops short of any identification.
The release itself warns that cellphone autofocus and processing distort distant lights. A point that stays put for about 15 minutes and flashes red, blue, and green is also what a bright star or planet looks like when it scintillates near the horizon. The videos alone cannot tell the two apart.
The DIA had already released these papers under FOIA; the new versions restore agency office names that had been withheld. They are theoretical literature surveys commissioned from outside physicists, not evidence of recovered or working technology, and the Pentagon says so in the release.
The Pentagon says these files are labeled 'unresolved' because investigators lacked the data to identify them, not because they have been tied to anything extraterrestrial. AARO still holds that most cases resolve to drones, balloons, birds, or sensor artifacts.
Secretary of War Pete Hegseth and DNI Tulsi Gabbard framed the PURSUE releases as the first of many rolling tranches expected every few weeks. Former AARO director Sean Kirkpatrick has cautioned that records reviewed during his tenure contained no evidence of recovered extraterrestrial technology.
